

Dr Maree O' Rourke joins EQI
Dr Maree O’ Rourke is a secondary school principal by profession and is a research associate at EQI at the Centre for Evaluation, Quality and Inspection at Dublin City University.
Maree worked as a post-primary school teacher from 1991-2003 when she was seconded as a Regional Development Officer (RDO) to the Second Level Support Service (SLSS) under the remit of the Department of Education (D.E.). In 2006 she became Assistant National Co-ordinator (ANC) of the National Behaviour Support Service (NBSS).
In 2009 she became the principal of a voluntary secondary school in the West of Ireland, moving in 2011 to her current position as principal of a voluntary secondary school in Dublin. Maree holds B.A. (Hons) and H. Dip. Ed., from University College Dublin; H. Dip. E.S. from University College Galway; M.Sc., and EdD from Dublin City University. Maree has a research interest in school leadership, in particular Distributed Leadership in secondary schools.
