Dr Anne Rowan Invited to Speak at UK House of Lords Panel on Supporting International Students
We are pleased to share the news of the invitation extended to Dr Anne Louise Rowan, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Evaluation, Quality and Inspection (EQI) at Dublin City University, to speak at a panel discussion hosted by the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for Skills, Careers and Employment.
The event, held on Wednesday at the UK House of Lords and organised by Policy Connect, focused on strategies for supporting international students in UK higher education. Dr Rowan, whose doctoral research examines the experiences of disabled international students, contributed insights from her work advocating for more holistic and structural approaches to inclusion within the sector.
Her participation reflects growing recognition of the importance of intersectional approaches to higher education policy and practice. The discussions from the event will inform Policy Connect’s submission to the UK Education Select Committee’s ongoing inquiry into higher education, ensuring that lived experience and research evidence shape future policy.
Dr Rowan’s involvement underscores EQI’s commitment to research that engages directly with pressing issues of equity and inclusion in international higher education.
