EQI Co-Directors Contribute to International Seminar on Educational Quality and Equity in Salamanca
EQI Co-Directors Professor Joe O’Hara and Professor Martin Brown recently participated in the international seminar “Present and Future of Research in Educational Quality: Assessment and Promotion of Equity in Education for Social Justice”, held at the Faculty of Education, Universidad de Salamanca.
Over the course of two days, the seminar brought together researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas on how educational quality can be assessed and advanced in the service of equity and social justice. Professor O’Hara and Dr Brown contributed to discussions on the role of International Large-Scale Assessments (ILSAs) in driving equity-focused educational reform, drawing on insights from EQI’s ongoing work on the EVIDENCE and CRITERIA projects.
The event provided a valuable platform for exploring shared challenges and opportunities across national contexts. EQI would like to thank our hosts in Salamanca—particularly Professor Fernando Martínez Abad and Professor María José Rodríguez Conde—for their generous hospitality and collegial engagement.
