Fees - Deferred / Repeat / Medical Remission of Fees

 

Repeat Student Fees:

Students who are repeating an entire academic year or any number of modules as a repeat student are liable to pay a repeat fee. The repeat fee for 25/26 academic year is as follows:


€57.00 per ECTS credit plus €40 Levy plus €130 Registration Charge (all Part Time programmes)
€57.00 per ECTS credit plus €43 Levy plus €234 Registration Charge (all Full Time programmes)

Students complete the R33 Postponement of Assessment or the R30 Extenuating Circumstances are registered as Repeat students the year they return and will be liable for repeat fees. For more information please see below.

 

Deferred Student Fees:

Student who complete the R32 Deferral of Academic Year before the 31st of October are not liable for fees for the year they are deferred, any fees paid at this point will be carried over into the next academic year.

 

Postponement of Assessment/ Extenuating Circumstances:

Postponement for Assessment R33:

Students who complete an R33 are liable for the full fee liability for the year they submitted they form.

Students may be eligible for Medical Remission if they meet the correct criteria for the following Academic (Repeat) Year (See Below)

Extenuating Circumstances R30:

Students who complete an R30 are liable for the full fee liability for the year they submitted they form.

Students may be eligible for Medical Remission if they meet the correct criteria for the following Academic (Repeat) Year (See Below)

Medical Fee Waiver:

The following fees apply to students who are deferring/repeating on medical grounds and returning to the same programme the following year.

1. Students who defer a full academic year on medical grounds will be required to pay the full Student Contribution Fee upon returning to the University.

2. Students who defer a semester on medical grounds will be required to pay half of the Student Contribution Fee.

3. Students repeating a semester on medical grounds will be asked to pay €55 per credit plus the relevant Student Levy.  If they wish to appeal these repeat fees, they should fill out the relevant medical fee waiver form.

Upon returning to the College, students will be asked to provide a letter from their Consultant stating that they are fit to return to study.  No other form of documentation will be accepted for an application for a waiver on medical grounds.  Each case will be examined individually by student support services.  Please ensure you complete the medical fee waiver form link below  https://www.dcu.ie/students/remission-fees-scheme-financial-assistance-…
