Aisling Fagan Bio

Aisling is a Communications Studies graduate and now holds the position of Vice-President for Welfare and Equality on the Students' Union. Aisling was highly involved in DCU life during her time as a student, particularly in the line of clubs and societies. She has held positions such as Chairperson, Public Relations Officer, Secretary and so on, with societies such as Raising & Giving, Enactus, Suas, HeadstARTS and Ladies Rugby. Aisling has been part of the Enactus DCU team that has gone on to win three National Competitions, and has represented Ireland at the Enactus World Cup in Toronto, 2016, London 2017, and will go on to represent Ireland once again in Silicon Valley in 2018. Aisling is highly involved with the Special Olympics, having volunteered at World Games with Team Ireland and National Games over the last few years. Volunteering, generally helping people and civic engagement are very much a huge passion of hers. Aisling learned a lot during her time in DCU, during her course and her involvement in clubs and societies, which have all lead her to her current position. She feels she will excel in her role as VP for Welfare and Equality, as tending to students needs, making sure they are represented equally and ensuring they enjoy their experience of DCU as much as she has, in a safe and inclusive environment, is at the forefront of her role.
