IRC Employment Based Postgraduate Programme (EBPP) 2014

ONLINE SYSTEM NOW OPEN: https://irishresearch.smartsimple.ie/s_Login.jsp?lang=1&prole=0

The Irish Research Council’s Employment Based Postgraduate Programme is an initiative providing postgraduate researchers with an employment-focused educational experience. The programme offers researchers the opportunity to undertake a Master's or PhD degree while employed by a private company or public organisation based in the Republic of Ireland. The programme is open to all disciplines, to new entrants and continuing students, and to EU and non-EU students.

Successful candidates  will be issued with a full-time employment contract with an employment partner (they will be employed full-time either temporarily or permanently for the duration of the award) and must register as a full-time DCU postgraduate research student for a period of 24 months (Masters by research) or 48 months (PhD) if they are not currently registered for one of these awards. In a change from last year's scheme the IRC is also accepting applications from continuing students as well as new applicants. Continuing students should check out the Terms and Conditions for full details on eligibility.

Academic staff wishing to get involved with the scheme should contact Invent staff in connection with the companies involved and IP issues - an IP agreement must be signed before the award can commence.

Dr. Ross McKiernan, Enterprise Programmes Manager in the IRC, is happy to discuss the mechanics of the Scheme with any companies who would like to get involved. (Please contact the Graduate Studies Office for details).

Candidates should notify the Graduate Studies Office of their intention to apply and can direct any queries on the scheme through the Graduate Studies Office who will liaise with the IRC via the FAQ system.
