COURSE CODE: DCU205

Course Descriptor

Many researchers want to create websites, either for their own personal profile or for research projects they are involved in. In this workshop we will introduce you to Github Pages and show you how you can use it to get started building a scholarly website or blog.

Github Pages uses Jekyll, a static site generator that produces HTML from easy-to-edit Markdown files. Markdown is a lightweight markup language which will also be introduced in the course of the session.

No prior knowledge of Github or Markdown is assumed.

Online session facilitated by Liam O’Dwyer, DCU Library
