Fire Warden Course
Course Code: DCU182
This session is facilitated by DCU Health & Safety Office
There is a legal requirement for employers to prepare an Emergency Plan that outlines how the
workplace will be evacuated in the event of a fire. In DCU, our staff assist in evacuating classrooms
and buildings in the event of a fire alarm activation.
This Fire Warden Training will equip learners with the skills and knowledge to prevent a fire and give
an understanding of the procedures that they need to follow in the event of a fire in the workplace.
This course will include legislative guidelines, outline causes of fire, fire prevention, different types of
fire and how to deal with fire upon discovery. Participants will gain the skills to help them to identify
potential fire hazards and implement fire prevention controls to help maintain your safety and that
of your colleagues. Course participants will learn about fire fighting equipment and all participants will
have an opportunity to discharge a fire extinguisher as part of the training.
Refreshments will be provided.
