Accessing and using the system
The following video is a walkthrough of the CoreTalent system and will give you an overview as to how you can access and use the system
There are three stages in the PRD process:
1. Self- Assessment Stage
2. Agreed Future Work and Development Objectives
3. Overall Assessment Stage
Stage 1 – The Self-Assessment Stage
The self- assessment stage is completed and submitted by the Reviewee to the Reviewer in
advance of the meeting.
This stage requires the Reviewee to complete and submit the Self-assessment (Stage 1) to
the Reviewer. In this stage, the Reviewee should outline their reflections of their
performance and progress against objectives for the previous 12 months. They will also be
required to include some preliminary thinking regarding future objectives. The Reviewer
may request additional information, but overall this stage aims to inform and support the
review discussion and ensure a meaningful discussion takes place from the perspective of
both the Reviewer and Reviewee.
The Review Meeting can then take place.
Stage 2 – Agreed Future Objectives
This stage is initiated and submitted by the Reviewee to the Reviewer for ‘sign off’ after the
PRD meeting has taken place. It is a record of the agreed future work and development objectives which were discussed and agreed at the review meeting by both parties.
Stage 3 – Overall Assessment
This stage is initiated by the Reviewee and submitted to the Reviewer who will provide an
overall assessment regarding the performance and development of the Reviewee. The
assessment should be consistent with what was discussed at the review meeting. No new
information should be included at this time which was not discussed between both parties
at the review meeting.
1. How do I access the CoreTalent System to complete my PRD?
CoreTalent is located on the dashboard of your CorePortal. The PRD icon is located on the menu on the left hand side, where you also find CoreExpenses. As a Reviewer, you should log in via the Manager Dashboard. As a Reviewee, you should log in via the Employee Dashboard.
2. When do I complete the 3 Stages of the PRD Form?
Stage 1 should be completed and submitted at least 1 week in advance of your meeting. Stages 2&3 should be completed after the Review Meeting.
3. Why can’t I save the PRD form to draft?
In order to save a particular Stage to draft, you will need to insert a small amount of text into each box within the relevant stage and then hit “Save”.
4. Why can't I move to the next stage and/or submit the PRD form?
Check if the previous sections of the PRD form have been signed off by both parties. If the problem persists you may need to contact support at hrsystems@dcu.ie.
5. How do I know what happens next or what action I need to take?
Email notifications are issued once a stage has been submitted by either the Reviewer or Reviewee. These outline the next steps and actions.
6. Note: URL, hyperlinks, symbols and special characters do not operate within CoreTalent
