DCU to host virtual National Moot Court Competition 2020

This year's National Moot Court Competition, hosted by Dublin City University and sponsored by A&L Goodbody, will take place on Saturday, 21 November 2020. This year, for the first time, the competition will take place in an entirely virtual format.

Each institution can enter a maximum of 5 teams with teams comprised of 3 students.

Entry deadline: 5 pm, Monday, 26 October 2020

Entrance fee: no fee this year.

Recorded Oral Submission deadline: 5 pm Friday, 6 November 2020

Written Submission deadline: 5 pm Friday, 6 November 2020

Live Finalists announced: Friday, 13 November 2020

Prizes: There are prizes for the Winning Team, Best Speaker in the Final and Best Memorials. 

This year's problem revolves around the tort of medical negligence. Students are required to prepare written submissions for the Plaintiff/Appellant and written submissions for the Defendant/ Respondent. Students will deliver oral arguments on 21st November.
