‘Fratelli Tutti’ – New Encyclical from Pope Francis published

Social friendship and the call to solidarity with all humanity is the theme of ‘Fratelli Tutti’, the third Encyclical, or ‘circular letter’ written by Pope Francis.  Five years on from ‘Laudato ‘Si’,  where Pope Francis emphasised our shared responsibility for our common world and for creation, ‘Fratelli Tutti’ continues in a similar vein.  It provides for reflection on how people all over the world can suffer from inequality, isolation and lack of opportunities.  Pope Francis encourages us to recognise our common responsibility to care for one another regardless of geographical distance, race, religion, gender or background.  It is a call to action, a call to honest and open dialogue.

You can read the full encyclical here on the Vatican website.
