About the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering!
The DCU School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering has been at the forefront of Teaching and Learning, and Research and Innovation since its establishment in 1987. The Schools strive for excellence and development which is evident through their taught and research programme options offered both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Our programmes are much in demand and draw some of the highest-achieving students entering third-level education both within and outside Ireland. The School offers undergraduate Level 8 degree programmes which can be continued to Level 9 Masters, focused on the skills and the expertise required by industry. The undergraduate programmes include programme related relevant industrial placement opportunities (INTRA) providing their students with invaluable real world engineering experience. The School offers a Postgraduate Masters (MEng) programme in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (MMME); students have the option to choose a major in either Sustainable Systems/Energy or Biomedical Engineering. Click here to find out more about our postgraduate programmes.
The School also carries out novel research together with industry in the areas of Biomedical Engineering, Innovative Manufacturing and Sustainable Technology at Level 9 Masters and Level 10 Doctorate, to address the research and innovation needs for a sustainable future.
