Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Group
The objective of this group is to provide a research and development support capability in modelling, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semi-conductor, building services and environmental applications.
It is actively involved in basic research in numerical methods, fluid mechanics and heat transfer with a view to developing and validating new solution methods and methodologies. As part of its applied research activities, the group identifies industrial problems and devises solutions to ensure safer or more efficient designs. Specific projects generally fall into three main research categories:
- Experimental and numerical analysis of heat transfer and flow processes
- Development of innovative computational codes
- Development of integrated design support softwares and methods
