• 14 National collaborations
• 110 refereed papers in peer-reviewed journals (1996 - 2001)
• Impact factor of 54 based on Journal impact factor as stipulated by the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI).
• 367 conference papers (1990 - 2000)
• 12 books/chapters
• Two Materials Processing Research Centre members have been awarded the higher degrees of D.Sc. from prestigious universities
• A number of the team members have established the international conference series on Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT)
• One of the MPRC members is the chairman of the AMPT Steering Committee and also the Editor of an International Journal of Materials Processing Technology published by Elsevier.
• 5 centre members of Materials Processing Research Centre are professional Chartered Engineers.
• One of the Materials Processing Research Centre members was been awarded Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Research Award: Medical Engineering Division for 2000.
