Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS or EDX) is an analytical technique used for the elemental analysis of a sample. The INCA Energy 350 XT microanalysis system from Oxford Instruments is used in conjunction with the Scanning Electron Microscope for this type of characterisation.
