DCU PPI Ignite 2018-2019 PPI in Research Seminar series

The first DCU PPI in Research Seminar Series ran from October 2018- February 2019. This was developed with feedback from partner organisations as well as needs highlighted by attendees at various DCU PPI Ignite events. Each seminar included a patient/public speaker. All seminars were attended by a mixed audience of members of the public, patients, researchers, students and support staff. A number of public and patient bursaries were available for each seminar. The slides for all presentations and matching audio recordings are available here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=18uaF85_czQW6bfYNWxgWZSaMwa1lZqA6

Seminar 1 provided an introduction to PPI by Noel Hickey and Brona Furlong from MedEx and Veronica Lambert and Lucy Whiston from DCU PPI Ignite. Seminar 2 focused on PPI in grant applications with Alyson Bailey, Sara Lord and Aoife Cahill from the HRB. Seminar 3 was on developing a PPI project with Bernard Kenny from the Trialogue Network and Liam MacGabhann from DCU PPI Ignite. Seminar 4 looked at communicating with the public, patients and patient organisations with Avril Kennan from the MRCG and Laura Brady from Fighting Blindness.
