Digitization of the National Folklore Collection

A project to digitize the National Folklore Collection (NFC) is now underway. The NFC collects, preserves and disseminates Ireland’s oral tradition and this digitization project will provide a data management system for the NFC and public access to materials from the collection on the following website - www.duchas.ie.

The project has been developed by Dr Caoilfhionn Nic Pháidín and team from Fiontar, DCU in collaboration with the National Folklore Collection, UCD. The project has been funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht (DAHG) for three years (2014-2016) with total project funding equalling €1,313,995.
