DCU Academic Dr Triona Lally awarded prestigious European Research Council Grant

Dr Caitríona Lally, School of Mechanical Engineering and Centre for Medical Engineering Research (MEDeng) at DCU, has been awarded a prestigious Starter Grant from the European Research Council in its latest funding round. These highly sought after awards aim to support up-and-coming research leaders in establishing a research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe.

Tríona’s 5 year, €1.5M project will advance research in arterial fibre remodelling for vascular disease diagnosis and tissue engineering. Tríona is one of only eight scientists based in Ireland to be awarded the Starting Grant in 2014
