These Centres have been strategically identified as institutional research centres of excellence with critical mass and international level capacity in key areas of research. The Centres were established with funding support through the Higher Education Authority Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions (PRTLI) which has enabled the construction of state-of-the-art research facilities on campus. In excess of €62m has been invested in the Centres under the HEA PRTLI to date.
