February, 2003 Vice-President for Research announces the two recipients of the President's Research Awards. This year award winners are Prof. Alan Smeaton, Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Sciences and Prof. Anne Scott, School of Nursing. January, 2003 Science Foundation Ireland annouces that the Centre for Science, Engineering and Technology in Plasma Formation, Measurement and Control (PlasMAC) has been awarded € 5 M Euro to establish research programme. October, 2002 The OVPR was privileged to have both the outgoing First Secretary for Science & Technology at the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Jincheng Kang and his successor, Mr. Xuejun Liang at DCU to give a presentation on the potential for Sino-Irish education and research collaborations.
