Research Networking Programmes

COST action

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is one of the longest-running European instruments supporting cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe. In December 2011, 30 new COST Actions were approved. COST funds the networking of researchers but it does not fund the research. A list of all COST Actions approved in 2011 can be downloaded here. The 30 new Actions approved in December can be seen on pages 37 and onwards.

A country’s participation is signalled by the signing of the MOU. A new Action can start once five countries sign the MOU and up to two delegates per country per Action are allowed on the Management Committee (MC). As the National Coordinator, I require that the researchers complete a form (attached) and return it to me, after which their names are submitted to the COST Office via an on-line nomination tool. The COST Office will request that the researchers complete their profile with their bank details using the on-line tool. The COST Office will also send notification of future meetings for the Actions.

Further information on COST and COST Actions can be accessed through the website: http://www.cost.eu.
