This short (online) information session aims to inform (potential) applicants about three new topics that have been added to the Cluster 1 ‘Health’ work programme of 2024, which include:
- HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-12-01: European partnership for pandemic preparedness
- HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-13-01: Implementation research for management of multiple long-term conditions in the context of non-communicable diseases (Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases – GACD)
- HORIZON-HLTH-2024-CARE-14-01: Pre-commercial procurement for environmentally sustainable, climate neutral and circular health and care systems

- HORIZON-CL4-2024-HUMAN-03-01: Advancing Large AI Models: Integration of New Data Modalities and Expansion of Capabilities
- HORIZON-CL4-2024-HUMAN-03-02: Explainable and Robust AI
This online event is an opportunity for researchers from Ireland and Northern Ireland to find out more about the upcoming calls. The event will provide researchers the opportunity to pitch their areas of interest and expertise. InterTradeIreland will offer event attendees the opportunity to register for a dedicated partnering platform to help them find potential partners on the island to collaborate with.

The Irish Marie Skłodowska Curie Office will host an online proposal writing workshop for the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 call. The event is open to applicant researchers, and their supervisors, applying to the 2024 call with a host organisation based in Ireland.
The workshop will be delivered in two parts and will provide a section-by-section overview of the proposal template and guidance on what is required in each section. Part 1 of the workshop (4th June) will cover the Excellence section with Part 2 (6th June) covering the Impact and Implementation sections. In preparation for the workshop, attendees will receive additional information in advance of the workshop and will be requested to review the material before Part 1 of the workshop on 4th June.
Please note that spaces are limited, as per Zoom allowances, and so spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. However, the event will be recorded and made available afterwards so that those who will not be able to attend the live sessions will still be able to watch the recording.
The event is open to both applicants and their proposed supervisors.

DCU Library’s summer programme of workshops for staff and researchers is back! It will run from 4th-13th June 2024. All sessions will be delivered online.

Sessions in week one will be delivered by our specialist librarians and include a variety of new and popular topics such as open research, planning and developing your search strategy, citation tracking, using maps for research and research data management.

Sessions in week two will be delivered by invited guests who will provide training on a specific online database or platform. Whether you are new to these resources or just want a refresher you are sure to pick up some useful expert tips.

A virtual information event on the MSCA Doctoral Networks 2024 Call will take place on 7th June 2024. This event is tailored toward potential applicants and stakeholders and aims to highlight the key aspects and novelties of the 2024 Call for Proposals. Furthermore, it will provide insights into the specificities of JD and ID implementation modes and answer the questions raised by the audience.

Dr Lucy Whiston, Programme Manager PPI Ignite Network at DCU, will host a shared learning group focused on Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) with children and young people on Thursday 13th June from 1:00-2:00pm. This will take place via Zoom and the call will open 10 minutes early for those that would like to join for introductions and chat.
The group aims to increase understanding and awareness of PPI in research with children and young people through presentation and discussion of best practice and examples.

Coordinating a project, from proposal to completion – a PI’s perspective
The Erasmus+ 2025 call will open in November. Now is the ideal time to begin to shape ideas for a project and to develop the right network for preparing a proposal in the coming year. During this session, you will be guided through the objectives and priorities of the Erasmus+ programme and the range of funding opportunities. We will also offer guidance on consortium-building. This will help you to match your interests and ideas with suitable project types and partners and be ready for the opening of the 2025 Call in the autumn.
You will also hear from a successful PI about her experience of coordinating an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership, the AHEAD project - Assessment in Healthcare EducAtion goes Digital - which was awarded funding in 2021 and is just reaching its completion.
