Research Newsletter - Issue 96: Funding Opportunities
TORA deadline: 3rd October 2024
Call deadline: 10th October 2024
This initiative aims to recognise and celebrate the wider benefits and achievements of HRB funded researchers beyond academic impact and aims to showcase both the achievements and practices of individuals (and their teams) so they can serve as a role model for the wider HRB community to maximise the impact of their research.
In the context of this award, the HRB are seeking examples of where HRB-funded research has had an impact/s on policy, practice, services or the health and social care system, with direct or indirect benefits resulting in terms of enhanced health and wellbeing, quality of life and better health outcomes and experiences for patients, communities, organisations or the public more generally.
Due to the high standard of previous nominations, individuals who were nominated unsuccessfully before may be nominated again.
The HRB will award one Impact Award in the 2025 round. The HRB IMPACT award is a monetary prize of €50,000 which will be granted to the recipient’s chosen HRB–approved Host Institution in support of their work. The recipient will be announced at the HRB Grant Holders’ Conference in February 2025.

The Health Research Board Applied Partnership Awards are currently open. They are designed to bring knowledge users and researchers together to develop research projects that address a documented need within the Irish health or social care system. Research findings will have a direct impact on decision-making in the knowledge user organisation.
- This is a rolling call with the closing date for Cycle 2 on 18th December 2024.
- The Applied Partnership Awards are open to all areas of health.
