The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) runs a variety of national research calls throughout the year. The predominant one is the Thematic Research Call, others include the Policy and Strategic Studies Research Call and the Ireland – New Zealand Joint Research Initiative Call.
In order to inform the development of these Calls, DAFM are carrying out a survey to gather researchers' opinions and perspectives. They have extended the survey deadline until 29th November.
You can complete the survey here.*
*Please note that your input should be in the context of informing DAFM’s Research Calls next year.
Please note the upcoming deadline for the ERC Starting Grant internal call for Expressions of Interest is 5th December 2024 at 5:00pm.
This call is for potential applicants to the highly prestigious ERC Starting Grant (ERC-2026-StG), with the funder deadline anticipated to be in October 2025. The ERC Starting Grant supports individual researchers of any nationality with 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise, and an excellent research proposal. Applications can be in any field of research, with applications evaluated on the sole criterion of excellence. ERC Starting Grants may be awarded up to €1.5 million for a period of five years.
The intention of the internal EoI call is to identify a small number of high potential applicants who will receive dedicated support over the months prior to the call deadline to maximise their chances of success.
For further information, please find EoI process details and application forms on the DCU Internal Funding Schemes webpage. (DCU login required to view).
