Academic biography

Fiona has twenty years experience in research administration and support within the Higher Education sector, working with different disciplines, units and faculties. She is currently responsible for managing the DCU Research Support team, and for ensuring the effective delivery of research support services and policies which facilitate the implementation of the research strategy. This includes development of research ethics, research integrity and associated compliance policy and processes, as well as oversight of funding call administration, contract management and research information systems and reporting.  She represents the university on external research related fora and networks which inform research policy and practice, including the EARMA Ethics and Research Integrity Officer Network, the N8-European Research Culture Observatory and the Irish Universities Association Research Officers group.  She was the inaugural Chairperson of the National Research Integrity Forum Community of Practice, and continues as a Forum member and active contributor to associated policy developments/reviews and training initiatives.
