Academic biography

I am the Research Development Officer for the Faculty of Science and Health at DCU. My role bridges the Faculty of Science and Health and Research Support Services.

My responsibilities include:

  • Supporting researchers in identifying research grant funding opportunities to support their research funding plans
  • Connecting researchers with effective resources, training and information
  • Providing hands-on advice and guidance to improve the competitiveness of grant applications
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of research in the faculty and the university

I worked as a Project Officer in the Health Research Board for over 7 years, working across pre-and post-award functions on complex grant awards. I worked in Canada for a year as a Research Grants and Partnerships Officer at University of Calgary, focusing on NSERC and Alberta Innovates grant programs.

I have held PMI CAPM certification and have a keen interest in IP and tech transfer.

I was awarded a PhD in Microbiology and a PgDip in Statistics.
