Academic biography

Associate Professor General Nursing

PhD MSc PGDipCHSE BNS RGN RNT SFHEA CGNC

I teach on the undergraduate BSc in Nursing programme and the MSc in Specialist Nursing. Most of my research work and scholarly activities are centered around Advanced Nursing Practice and digital healthcare education.

Erasmus+ funded projects include 'Digi-Change' - Digital Transformation in Healthcare Education', 'AHEAD' Assessment in Healthcare EducAtion goes digital', 'eCoNNECT: enhanced Communication iN Nursing through Exchange of Clinical Teaching experiences' and 'TANAHE: Teaching and Assessing for Nurses and Allied Health Educators', all of which have been developed together with EU/global partners. I have developed expertise in online / blended learning formats, and in developing multilingual / culturally sensitive study materials, producing creative media and interactive videos, and in recorded / AI assessments to provide individualised teaching, assessments and feedback.  At a national level, I led a group in Nursing related to eportfolio and reflective learning. I was recently awarded a Senior Fellowship with Advance HE, which demonstrates that my teaching is in line with the UK Professional Framework for Professional Teaching and Learning. I am also a Certified Global Nurse Consultant (CGNC) with TruMerit - an US-based certification board.

Advanced Practice Nursing' is my clinical area of expertise. My past clinical experience and my extensive involvement in conferences, publications and projects have led to global recognition and a voluntary leadership position with the International Council of Nurses (ICN) NP/APN Network as their current Chair.
