DCU Summer School 2014

DCU Summer Scholars

Sunday, June 22nd to Friday, July 4th, 2014

Challenge yourself this summer with DCU Summer Scholars!

It’s an opportunity to try out a real university course, and meet new people on the DCU campus. This two‐week Summer Programme is designed for secondary school students and allows you to take a combination of actual degree programmes. It will give you a flavour of academic life at DCU and you can even live on campus.

Specially selected courses allow students to explore subjects and advance their studies without the pressure of grades. The courses are college courses similar to those on offer in first year undergraduate programmes at DCU. Students study four subjects for the duration of the course; one module containing three subjects, and one elective subject.

Small class sizes are led by an instructor and teaching assistant, who have an expertise in the area, and are enthusiastic about their subject.

It’s important that students can relax and get to know each other outside of the classroom so students participate in a range of extra‐curricular activities from 3.00pm and 5.00pm each day. Activities include sports, arts & crafts, and explore mutual interests in music and drama etc.

Residential students stay on campus in DCU and our residential team will ensure the wellbeing, safety and security of students.
