Police

DCU works very closely with the Guards (Police) to ensure the safety of students and staff on our campuses and the surrounding areas. We have very good relationships with the Guards and dedicated ‘Garda Liaison Officers’ who are in close contact with us at all times and who provide great support when required.

Apart from being present around the campus at various times, the Guards offer a monthly ‘drop-in’ service during Semester time to allow students to call in with any questions or concerns they may have/seek advice on any matter they may be able to assist with. This is a confidential service.

Early reporting of a crime is crucial, so please don’t wait for these clinics to report a crime. You can call into any Garda Station in the country or call 999 if you need to speak to a member of the Guards.

Web - http://www.garda.ie/ The Irish Police are called ‘An Garda Síochána’ and can be reached at 999 or 112. Please be ready to inform Emergency Services of your whereabouts, your name, and the purpose of your call.  See also ‘S’ for Security on Campus in our A-Z Guide for more information.
