SALIS and DCU Access Open Day Event

The School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) and the Access Office held an Open Day at Glasnevin Campus dedicated to students who enter DCU through the Access route.

Focusing on students with a passion for languages, we welcomed 40 secondary school students from St.Vincents Glasnevin, St Mary’s HF Killester and Margaret Aylward Community College to an informative and interactive Open Day.

The event allowed students to listen to stories of current DCU students and alumni who came through the Access programme and have had a rewarding language learning journey at DCU.

A presentation on how and why career prospects are boosted by speaking additional languages with Eimear Ní Bhroin, the European Commission Language Affairs Officer, followed. The day wrapped up with refreshments and a tour of the DCU Glasnevin campus.
