Na Fianna Éireann and the Irish Revolution, 1909-23: Scouting for Rebels

On 13 June 2019 the DCU School of History and Geography celebrated the publication of Dr Marnie Hay’s new book Na Fianna Éireann and the Irish Revolution, 1909-23: Scouting for Rebels at Marsh’s Library.

Situated close to the former site of Jacob’s biscuit factory, a rebel garrison where many members of the Fianna served during the Easter Rising of 1916, this eighteenth-century library was an unexpected but appropriate venue for a book examining the contribution of the nationalist youth group to the Irish Revolution.

Dr Marie Coleman, Reader in History at Queen’s University Belfast, launched the book, which is published by Manchester University Press.
