About the School

The School carries out research in a wide variety of fields to solve problems in the fundamental and applied sciences and to develop the discipline of mathematics itself. Research and postgraduate research supervision is carried out in Algebra and Geometry, Analysis and Probability, Financial & Actuarial Mathematics, Mathematical Education and Relativity & Astrophysics.

We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, including a fully accredited degree programme in Actuarial Mathematics, allowing students to gain exemptions from up to eight of the examinations of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. We provide undergraduate and graduate programmes in Financial Mathematics and provide professional qualifications in Mathematics Teacher Education.

The School provides mathematics teaching across the five faculties of DCU, and runs the Maths Learning Centre, a support centre for students.
