Realising Bologna is a 2 day international symposium focused on institutions' experience of implementing curriculum reform in the context of the Bologna Agreement. This symposium will be of interest to those who have played key roles in the process of Bologna alignment in their institution. Participants are invited to attend with a view to engaging in discussions about the challenges, opportunities and outstanding issues associated with our experience of becoming Bologna compliant.

Realising Bologna is designed to be highly interactive with a mix of key note input and parallel focused discussions addressing topics such as:

  • quality assurance and learning outcomes
  • national/regional collaborative strategies
  • approaches to curriculum reforms
  • challenges wrt discipline-specific learning outcomes
  • maintaining programme/institutional distinctiveness
  • learning outcomes, assessment and grading schemes

This symposium is organised by Dublin City University in association with the
Dublin Region Higher Education Alliance (DRHEA), a SIF II funded consortium of the four universities (DCU, NUIM, TCD and UCD) and the four institutes of technology (DIT, IADT, ITB and ITTD) in the greater Dublin region. The DRHEA is collaboratively addressing a wide range of common areas including Enhancement of Learning, Graduate Education, Internationalisation and Widening Participation, taking a regional approach to national priorities.
