Higher Education Research Centre (HERC)

The Higher Education Research Centre (HERC) is a recently-formed interdisciplinary research group, based in the Office of the Vice-President for Learning Innovation. Working with colleagues across DCU, linked colleges and partners in other universities in Ireland and internationally, the centre undertakes and promotes research in the broad field of higher education and lifelong learning.

The particular focus is on policy orientated research that brings the research community together with those engaged in policy and practice in higher education from public, private and NGO sectors, as well as representatives of civil society: stimulating debate and facilitating collaboration.

The Higher Education Research Centre has been established by Professor Maria Slowey, Director of Higher Education Research and Development in the Office of the Vice-President for Learning Innovation.

A number of Visiting Research Fellows are appointed to HERC to further its remit, which is guided by an Executive Development Group and a National and International Advisory Board.

If you are interested in contributing to the work of HERC or suggesting a collaboration, please email: HERC@dcu.ie or phone + (353) 1 7005072.
