Director of Quality Promotion

The Director of Quality Promotion is an ex-officio member of and acts as secretary to, the Quality Promotion Committee. The Director of Quality Promotion reports to the President.
 

The Director of Quality Promotion is responsible for:

  • ensuring that the Quality Promotion Unit functions effectively
  • developing, maintaining and communicating, in conjunction with the Quality Promotion Committee, integrated quality assurance/quality improvement procedures for Dublin City University
  • promoting a culture of quality improvement in the University
  • co-ordinating and supporting the self-assessment and evaluation of quality in Schools, Faculties and Units
  • directing the periodic evaluation of quality assurance/quality improvement procedures, in conjunction with the Quality Promotion Committee
  • representing the University on appropriate external bodies, including the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB), and disseminating information on their deliberations to the Quality Promotion Committee and throughout the University
  • assisting the Quality Promotion Committee in the formulation of policy on quality assurance and quality improvement
  • maintaining knowledge of best practice in the field and to contribute to this as appropriate
  • assessing and presenting, on the resource implications of quality reviews to Executive (though the Budget Committee) drafting the annual report for Executive, Academic Council and Governing Authority
