Quality Improvement and Development Funding (QuID)

Established in 2012, the DCU Quality Improvement and Development Fund (QuID) is an open funding call to support community-led quality enhancement initiatives across the University that will impact our staff, students and stakeholders.

The call embraces Collective Leadership as a core principle, recognising that staff from across all areas, grades and professions can be empowered to identify opportunities for improvement, pursue new ideas and effect change.

A limited amount of funding is made available annually and each year, the Quality Promotion Committee selects a theme for the call.

QuID Theme 2026:
Inclusivity: Design for Belonging

DCU’s strategic plan, Transformation for an Unscripted Future, is built on a people-first philosophy. Guided by the principles of People, Focus, and Impact, the strategy is committed to transforming lives and societies by creating a university where every person feels welcome, valued, supported, and connected.

In alignment with this mission, the current 2026 QuID funding call seeks staff-led interventions that proactively design for belonging across the University community. Applications are projects that embed equity, inclusivity, and community into DCU’s institutional systems, processes, spaces, and interactions.

The initiative continues QuID’s long-standing commitment to supporting innovative ideas and meaningful enhancements that strengthen the DCU community and university experience.
