history of the committee
- Since 1997, a Quality Steering Committee has existed at DCU. The committee was reconstituted as an interim Quality Committee in early 2001. The interim Quality Committee held its first meeting on 16 February 2001 and made recommendations on:
- the establishment of a Quality Unit
- the job specification for the Director of the Unit
- the terms of reference of the Quality Committee
- At its meeting of 26 February 2001, the Quality Promotion Committee made recommendations on :
- the responsibilities of the Director of Quality Promotion
- the terms of reference of the Quality Promotion Committee
- Following on from a report from the Vice-President (Chair of the interim Quality Committee), the University Executive at its meeting of 6 March 2001 agreed to the following proposals:
- the University's office for Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement be titled the Quality Promotion Office (QPO)
- the QPO be headed by a Director of Quality Promotion
- the University's Quality Promotion Committee (QPC) be formally established
- At its meeting of 14 May 2002, the University Executive agreed that the term of office of the Quality Promotion Committee would be 3 years
- At its meeting of 13 June 2002, the Governing Authority approved the recommendation of the University Executive that the Quality Promotion Committee would be a committee of the University Executive
