Your official welcome to DCU will introduce you to both the Student Support and Development team (SS&D) and the Students' Union (SU). You'll discover the academic and personal support systems available, as well as opportunities to get involved in campus life, including Clubs and Societies, becoming a Class Rep, and volunteering.

Peer Mentoring & Campus Tours

Meet your peer mentor and take a guided tour of the campus. Your mentor, a current student, will help you navigate your first few weeks at DCU. The tour will help you get familiar with key buildings, important student services, and campus resources.

Programme Orientation: IGNITE

IGNITE is a first year Faculty of Engineering and Computing programme that starts with Orientation and continues throughout the year across a number of modules and activities. The aim of IGNITE is to ensure that positive active engagement is fired from the day you join the Faculty and through the crucial early stages of University, so that positive learner behaviours are established and you are empowered to be successful. It focuses on improving and enhancing your learning experience, behaviours and mind-set and your sense of belonging, confidence, trust and the connection among each other and with staff.
