Career Appointments with a Careers Consultant

We encourage students to engage with our online careers resources through MyCareer, our Careers Loop page or through our website. We have resources available to support you in identifying and exploring options with your degree, writing effective CVs, Applications and Personal Statements as well as tools and tips for preparing for interview.

If you require a careers appointment we have different appointment types available depending on the nature of your query. We offer a short appointment for things like a CV review or a longer appointment allowing for more in-depth discussion to help you with career planning and decision making.

Career Appointments with a Careers Consultant for Research Students

We also have specific appointments available for Research Students. Depending on the nature of your query, you can book one of two appointment types.

• Career decision-making
• Exploring career routes for example industry, academia, academic-adjacent
• Strategic job search and networking
• Making successful job applications
• Identifying and articulating skills and strengths
• Developing interview skills and interview preparation

Consultations are available both on campus and online via Zoom.

Open to all current undergraduate and postgraduate students. Booking is essential and availability can be limited during peak periods so be sure to check mycareer.dcu.ie for appointments as new appointments are added every Thursday afternoon.
