DCU Poetry Circle

The DCU Poetry Circle received Arts and culture Funding in 2024 and ran the following events:

• Poetry Circle Inaugural meeting on Glasnevin Campus

• Several Open Mic in the Cat and Cage

• Poetry Circle meet ups on St Pat’s and Glasnevin campuses

• Full Day Poetry Workshops

The Poetry Circle events consisted of students, staff and community members reading their work in progress and receiving feedback from those in attendance.

The Open Mic events involved reading work, but without the feedback element.

The first Poetry Workshop had three elements:

1. Poetry Editing Workshop, led by poet Eithne Lannon
2. Sustaining your practice, led by poet Anne Tannam
3. Poetry Performance, led by poet Annie Peter

The second Poetry workshop lead by Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan concentrated on performance and vocal warmup exercises.
