A Thank-Offering: Celebrating Seamus Heaney

This project brought together writers and musicians for a special evening of celebration. Taking place a few days in advance of Heaney’s 85^th birthday, the event drew a significant crowd. 

Members of the Heaney family were in attendance, with Heaney’s wife, Marie Heaney, describing the evening as one of the best she’d been too, a “singular” event. The School of English in DCU ran a poetry competition and the winners read on the night, in one of the evening’s highlights.
