Embark Postdoctoral Fellowship Success

Embark Initiative - LogoCongratulations to Zhen Liu, Timo Volkmer and Arijit Bhattacharya who were awarded Embark Postdoctoral Fellowships. We look forward to working with the new fellows over the coming years.

 

Xiaojun Wang - PhotoThe Embark Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme is administered by the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET). Alan Smeaton - PhotoIt is open to researchers from all nations who are at an early stage of their postdoctoral research career and who wish to further their research in the sciences, engineering or technology, at an Irish research institution.

 

John Geraghty - PhotoZhen Liu will be working with Dr. Xiaojun Wang (School of ElectronicPaul Young - Photo Engineering). Timo Volkmer will be working with Professor Alan Smeaton (School of Computing and CDVP/AIC). Arijit Bhattacharya will be working with Dr. John Geraghty and Dr. Paul Young (School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering).

 

Other Embark successes for DCU are Clare Hamilton (Mol/Bio), Patrick Hayden (Physics), Ewa Kazimierska (Chemistry) and Jofre Pedregosa Gutierrez (Physics).

 

DCU was also successful in the the first round of the Embark Postgraduate Research Scholarship Scheme, the results of which were announced in March. The following successful applicants to this scheme will be hosted in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing, (supervisor and School in parentheses):

The second call for the Embark Postgraduate Research Scholarship Scheme is expected at the end of June. If you are interested in applying for this scheme, please consult the research pages of the three Schools (below) and contact your potential supervisor directly.
