Information on when to pay Undergraduate Programme fees are listed below.
Please note that we accept all credit cards/debit cards except American Express.
Depending on your banking provider, a daily transaction limit may apply to your debit card, of usually around €1,500. You may need to make payments over separate days in order to complete your payments.
Students entitled to 'Free Fees'

If the student is later refused a SUSI grant, they will have to pay fees as outlined above

Undergraduate Students:
Students entitled to Free Fees:
Students must at the time of online registration supply their 13 digit SUSI application number together with payment of the student levy fee of €43.
Student not entitled to Free Fees:
Students must supply their 13 digit SUSI application number and are required to pay 60% of the balance of total fees less any confirmed amounts awarded by SUSI.
Postgraduate Students:
Students must supply at the time of online registration their 13 SUSI application number together with 60% of the total fees less any confirmed amounts awarded by SUSI.
As this is an application number only if a student is later refused the grant from SUSI they must pay DCU in FULL directly. DCU will not get into any discussions with SUSI on a students behalf.
Students awarded 100% fees from SUSI should also be aware they they do not cover student levies.

- Students who defer a full academic year prior to registration will incur no fee liability.
- Students who register and subsequently defer the academic year prior to the 31st October will have their payment carried forward to the next academic year form (Change to registration - R32)
Note: Students complete the R30 (Extenuating Circumstances) or the R33 (Postponement of Assessment) are liable to pay full fees for the academic year they submitted the forms. Student may be eligible for Medical remission for the following (repeat) year. For more information regarding deferrals, postponement of assessment and medical remission please see here.
Once a student registers online on a course they immediately become liable to payment of fees for the period of registration up to the date they officially withdraw. For students who wish to withdraw from their programme, please note the steps below.
- It should be noted that it is simply not enough to speak to your Chairperson and tell them you will not be returning to your programme.
- You must fill out the relevant forms duly signed and formally withdraw. Click here for more information.
- You must return your student ID card to the registry and contact the fees office to ensure there is no outstanding fee liability.
- Failure to formally defer/withdraw will incur a fee liability for the student. Once a student withdraws, they will be not have access to their student email.
