Sacred Texts Conference in Seoul, Korea -- Brad Anderson

Dr Brad Anderson, Lecturer in Biblical Studies, recently took part in a conference on sacred texts held in Seoul, Korea. The conference -- entitled 'Books as Sacred Beings' -- was held at Seoul National University, and was hosted by the Department of Religious Studies at the University. Scholars from six countries took part, with presentations exploring the use of sacred texts in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, shamanism, and more. The participants also visited the Haeinsa temple, which houses a revered copy of the Tripitaka, the Buddhist sacred text.
