hyperlynx

Album release and tour from Swiss-Irish collaboration featuring Dr Matthew Jacobson

hyperlynx is a Swiss/Irish collaboration between Laurent Méteau (guitar – Service Fun, Aerie, Metabolism), Philipp Schlotter (rhodes/electronics – Me&Mobi, Namaka, Music Against Airports) and Matthew Jacobson (drums/synths – ReDiviDeR, Anna Mieke, Roamer).

They will release their debut album 'Rest Energy' on cassette and digitally on the 10th October 2025 on Little Gem Records, a Dublin-based independent label founded in 2014 by Andy Walsh. Their Irish launch tour kicks off on the 3rd September at Campbell’s Tavern, Galway and will be followed by a Swiss tour later in the year.

Blending elements of jazz, rock, ambient and electronic music, hyperlynx is a sonic alchemy of genres, straddling the creative energy between Dublin and Zurich. The trio recorded 'Rest Energy' in June 2024 with Omar Fra at Studio 42 in Winterthur, capturing the raw energy of their live performances, and was mastered by Seán Mac Erlaine at Studio Sáile, Dublin.

The album artwork features work by D’Metrius John Rice and was designed for cassette by Andy Walsh.

hyperlynx features a novel combination of sounds including rhodes, prepared zither, electric guitar, synths and drums. After 17 years of playing experience in various formations (AERIE, Metabolism, Blowout Fracture) – since Jacobson and Méteau met each other while studying in Lucerne, Switzerland in 2008 – and locations across the world, they have spent the last few years melding these sounds into something unique, that treats audiences to an immersive and engaging experience.
