CREATE21 Centre Launch - Professor John Coolahan

The CREATE21 Centre

The CREATE21 Centre was launched in the Cregan Library, DCU St. Patrick's Campus, on Tuesday 19th April 2016 by Professor John Coolahan.

Dr. PJ Sexton, director of the CREATE21 Centre, opened the launch and welcomed attendees that included colleagues from higher education in Ireland (North and South), representatives from partner schools, teacher unions, the Teaching Council of Ireland, SCoTENs and other key stakeholders with regard to teacher education.

In welcoming the establishment of the centre Professor Brian MacCraith, President of Dublin City University highlighted its role and significance within the Institute of Education and in the broader DCU research community.

The keynote address was delivered by Professor John Coolahan, who located the centre within the broader context of current research initiatives in teacher education both nationally and internationally, and reminded the audience that such research needs to be realised in practice and policy.
