EDC Hosts School Completion Coordinators Meeting

The Education Disadvantage Centre hosted a meeting in the Institute of Education of the Dublin North City and County cluster School Completion Coordinators Peer Learning Network on February 27th. The School Completion Programme (SCP), based in Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, focuses on local area responses involving clusters of DEIS schools and local services as part of a coordinated multidisciplinary response for early school leaving prevention for an area.

Dr. Paul Downes, Director of the Educational Disadvantage Centre, was asked to facilitate a meeting of these SCP Coordinators across Dublin North City and County, building on previous work of the Centre with many local coordinators. The meeting discussed SCP practice, the multidimensional needs of students and was informed by the recent report published by the EU Commission, Structural Indicators for Inclusive Systems in and around Schools, that Dr. Downes led.
