Grad Dip SPHE/RSE online summer school

Our GDip SPHE/RSE students spent 28th June working with some of the best researchers from around the world working in the field.

  • Dr. Natalie Hendry, Senior Lecturer in Youth Wellbeing, Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne,
  • Professor Eva Goldfarb, Professor of Public Health, College of Education and Human Services, Montclair State University
  • Professor Yvette Taylor, Professor of Education, School of Education, University of Strathclyde and
  • Dr. Debbie Ging, Associate Professor of Digital Media and Gender, School of Communications, DCU

The sessions brought the complexities of classroom practice in SPHE/RSE together with the insights of research and vice versa! This ground-breaking grad dip for post-primary teachers is generating interest from around the world.

Students shared some of their experiences of the day:

“A whirlwind informative global tour showcasing the collective effort underway internationally on progressive relationships and sexuality education.”

“Scholars creating really valuable classroom resources that are informed by research and really engage students and make sure they are voicing their experiences and views in the classroom which is so important.”

“The value of visuals, rich questions, and interactive teaching methods and the importance of using the students lived experiences to make the learning relevant to them in order to engage them a rich learning experience.”
