World Anti-Bullying Forum 2025

DCU Anti-Bullying Centre (ABC) was very well represented at the World Anti-Bullying Forum from 11-13th June in Norway with twenty-two members of the team presenting seventeen papers, symposia, and posters arising from ongoing research at the Centre.

Among these were presentations by Prof. James O'Higgins Norman, Prof. Audrey Bryan, and Dr. Ashling Bourke from the School of Human Development, Dr. Sinéad McNally from the School of Inclusive and Special Education, and Dr. Audrey Doyle from the School of Policy and Practice.

The biennial event was hosted by our ECIU partner the University of Stavanger and drew delegates from 56 countries,  all of whom are working in the field of bullying prevention among children and youth. 

DCU delegates presented on research on smartphones in schools, participatory and co-designed research, autism and bullying, parental mediation and online bullying, online racism, social dominance orientation, as well as emerging technologies for bullying prevention, grooming, and self-harm. 

A highlight of the conference was an award to Teresa Di Manno for her research poster presentation about TOZI an anti-bullying app developed in DCU Anti-Bullying Centre in collaboration with Vodafone Foundation and ISPCC Childline.
