Prof Maura McAdam

Prof Maura McAdam is full Professor of Management at DCU Business School, the first Director of Entrepreneurship at DCU, and a full staff member of staff at the National Centre for Family Business.

Professional activities and research: Maura is nationally and internationally recognised for research scholarship in entrepreneurship studies, has expertise in particular in gender, entrepreneurial leadership, technology entrepreneurship and family business. An experienced entrepreneurship educator, her transformative teaching practices have been recognised by teaching awards including the 2019 Irish Women’s Award for Services to Education. Maura has held Visiting Professor Positions at Massey University, New Zealand and Babson College Boston and is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Nottingham, UK and Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University, Saudi Arabia. Her research has been published in leading international journals including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and the International Small Business Journal, and she has authored the book ‘Female Entrepreneurship’ and co-authored the book ‘Entrepreneurial Behaviour. Known by many aspiring women entrepreneurs, Maura is an engaged thought leader and regular media commentator on female entrepreneurship and women in leadership roles in business.
